What is the NextGen Foundation?
The NextGen Foundation is a sub-foundation of the Bradley-Turner Foundation, created to engage 5th- and 6th-generation members of the Bradley-Turner family in active philanthropy. The NextGen Foundation provides an opportunity for younger family members to learn grantmaking, steward charitable resources, and support causes they are passionate about. Unlike the Bradley-Turner Foundation, NextGen is not bound by the same place-based focus, allowing for broader geographic giving. Otherwise, many of the same policies and preferences outlined for the Bradley Turner Foundation will apply. Grant awards are typically more modest, with average grants around $20,000. The current Chair of the NextGen Foundation is Jack Mitchell, who is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Organizations apply using the same application as the Bradley-Turner Foundation, with the option to designate the NextGen foundation within the application.
